Titans fall short in season opener
The Michigan Titans fell on Saturday evening to the D3 Nation 41-40. Titans guard Ladarious Johnson led the Titans with a 17-point performance. The contest opened with a 7 point run by the Titans, which was quickly halted by a time out by D3. After some defensive adjustments by D3, the Titans struggled to keep possession with 5 straight turn overs. The Titans led by as many as 7 points throughout the contest. However, turnovers took their toll on the Titans totaling 19. Johnson was 88% from the field hitting 8 of 9 shots to keep them close. Rashar Glass had 8 points shooting 50% from the field hitting 2-4. A late rally earned D3 a 1 point led with seconds left.
A late foul put Glass to the line shooting 2 with 7 seconds remaining and down one. A rare miss of both free throws ended the game with a 41-40 defeat.
